whynot.tokyo は、アーティストが自ら場をひらき、社会との新たな関係性を構築するためのプラットフォームとして、高屋永遠を中心に2019年に発足しました。コロナ禍では、助成金申請支援、作品販売などを通じて、創作環境の維持に取り組み、2023年以降は、アート・クラフト・テクノロジー・地域文化を横断する実践へ活動領域を拡張しています。 同年の奥能登震災後の石川県の珠洲焼の復興支援において、作家の生活と創作を両面から支える伴走型モデルを構築し、創造の循環を再生する取り組みをしています。 場所に縛られず、時代に応じて柔軟に形式を更新しながら、創作と社会を接続する基盤を育てること。それが whynot.tokyo の理念です。
